What's the name of a three-dimensional object with 48 equal sides, all sides being equilateral triangles?

I have this puzzle, it's the object described with parts that lock together, if anyone knows how to take it apart, that'd be nice, too. I can't remember what it's called...

It's made of wood.What's the name of a three-dimensional object with 48 equal sides, all sides being equilateral triangles?
a polygon w/ 48 sides is called a ';tetracontakai octagon';

The greatest # of sides your equilateral triangle solid can have is 20. It's called a regular icosahedron.

Reason: any six such triangles will define a plane and therefore cease to be individual faces. Ergo, at any corner there can be a maximum of 5 triangles joining together. This forms an icosahedron.
