What is the escape velocity of the Moon compared to the Earth? What is the
escape velocity of Mars compared to the Earth? How does the Escape Velocity of an object depend on it's Mass and Radius?
Hi. Whoa big fella, one at a time. The escape velocity depends on the mass of a body and how close you are to the center of that mass. The denser the body the closer you can get to the center. Escape velocity climbs as these two criteria are met. Worst case is a black hole where you can get close enough to the center that the velocity equals that of light. How does the Escape Velocity of an object depend on it's Mass and Radius?
Escape velocity of an object doesnt depend upon its mass, radius or whatever. It is calculated by taking the square root of twice the acceleration due to
gravity multiplied by the radius of the planet. Now that you have the formula, take a calculator and compute the ratios for earth(11.2 km/s),Moon and Mars.SORRY,PLEASE EXCUSE ME FOR THAT!!!
